Contract watch: iGate, Lockheed Martin, Science Applications International

IGate Corp. (NASD: IGTE) announced a five-year global infrastructure services contract with insurer MetLife Inc. valued at $100 million. The deal strengthens a 10-year relationship between the two companies. The contract includes data services engineering and implementation; middleware support and implementation; infrastructure application development services; enterprise networking and messaging, infrastructure project management; and infrastructure utility services.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) received an approximately $320 million contract to run the Network Command Center, supporting the U.S. Air Force’s National Capital Region’s information technology communications network used by all Air Force personnel in the Washington region. Services will include desktop support, enterprise applications, plans, projects and engineering services. The contract has a one-year base with nine options.

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) won a contract to provide IT services to Orange County California. The firm will provide IT services in areas that include service desk and desktop services; data center management; applications maintenance and development; and overall IT service management. The fixed-price contract has a five-year base valued at more than $74 million plus two one-year options for a total contract value of approximately $102 million.
