IT staffing acquisitions: Eagle, HKA, Talent International

Information technology staffing providers announcing acquisitions include Eagle Professional Resources Inc., HKA Enterprises and Talent International.

● Eagle Professional Resources Inc., one of the largest Canadian staffing firms, acquired information technology staffing firm Group Vallianz Inc. of Montreal. The deal closed Nov. 30. Terms of the transaction were not announced.

“The executive team at Vallianz, specifically Gilbert Boileau and Luc Jobin, are recognized leaders in the Quebec Staffing Industry,” said Terry Power, president of Eagle. “We are very excited about the opportunity to bring Eagle and Vallianz together in Montreal and form the foundation for our growth strategies in the Quebec market.”

Kevin Dee, Eagle’s co-founder and CEO, added “The addition of the Vallianz Team helps solidify our position in Quebec and creates an even greater ability for us to deliver the best possible resources to our clients.”

Vallianz, which was founded in 2010, will operate under the Eagle brand and its executives will remain with the company.

Eagle provides information technology staffing as well as accounting/finance staffing and executive management consulting. It ranks No. 11 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest Canadian staffing firms.

● Separately, HKA Enterprises Inc. acquired Midcom Corp., an IT and engineering staffing firm specializing in technical and aeronautics staffing. Midcom is based in Anaheim, Calif. The transaction closed Dec. 2; terms were not disclosed.

HKA provided employment for approximately 5,000 people in 2013, and the addition of Midcom will increase this number to around 6,500, according to HKA Marketing Coordinator Laura Long. Projected 2014 revenues are $200 million, representing approximately 40 percent growth from the acquisition.

Midcom Corp. will now operate as Midcom, a division of HKA Enterprises Inc., and serve as HKA’s West Coast center of operations and sales. Its executives will remain in their same capacity for the time being.

HKA is headquartered near Greenville, S.C., and has field offices in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. It places engineers and skilled tradesman in industries including IT, oil and gas, manufacturing and engineering.

● In a deal in Australia, International IT recruitment group Talent International acquired Agile Logic, a Western Australian IT consultancy in a move designed to diversify the company’s business model, reports itwire.com. Financial details of the acquisition were not released.
