BYOD, cloud, mobility create Australian IT jobs

The growth of “bring your own device” (BYOD), cloud computing and mobility are creating new employment hotspots in the information and communications technology job market, according to the Australia operations of Experis, the IT division of ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN).

Experis reports demand for IT specialists in Australia will rise toward the end of the year as emerging technologies drive new employment opportunities.

“The rise of BYOD, cloud computing and mobility have changed the way we work, and as a result, we’re seeing growing demand for technology professionals with skills in these areas,” said Brent Leahy, IT practice lead at Experis.

“More so than ever before, we’re relying on technology in our everyday lives,” Leahy said. “The proliferation of mobile devices has changed how we engage and connect. Companies are looking to recruit IT workers with skills to help move them from the desktop to the cloud, to mitigate risk and to take advantage of new technologies that will help them grow in the long term.

The Australian employment market across IT has been relatively flat but stable this year, he said. However, sentiment is shifting and the market will likely pick up in the next six to nine months.
