Florida, California top states for healthcare professionals

Florida and California were the top states for healthcare professionals in terms of job interest, according to StaffDNA, a Dallas-based firm that compiles and distributes resume and employment data on healthcare professionals.

The firm said 18 percent of healthcare professionals signing up in September were interested in positions in Florida. Another 17 percent cited California. It was followed by Texas at 16 percent, New York at 12 percent and North Carolina at 11 percent.

The types of jobs receiving the most interest included permanent, 34 percent; local contracts, 26 percent, per diem, 20 percent and travel/temporary, 20 percent.

StaffDNA was begun August by Sheldon Arora, CEO of healthcare staffing firm LiquidAgents Healthcare.
