Accountable acquires Chicago healthcare staffing firm

Accountable Healthcare Staffing Inc. acquired MedAscend, its tenth acquisition to date. MedAscend is a Chicago-based healthcare staffing firm that provides physicians, advanced practice and allied health staffing solutions throughout the United States.

The transaction closed July 7; terms were not disclosed.

MedAscend operates one office, in Chicago, and will rebrand into Accountable within the next 90 days. Its key executive, Jan Casford, will remain with AHS as chief operating officer of its allied division. Casford will also manage the MedAscend book of business.

“It is our objective to continue to build our national Allied staffing business and MedAscend increases both AHS’ scale as well as our footprint in Chicagoland,” said AHS Chairman and CEO Robert Adamson. “MedAscend also brings Accountable an Advanced Practice expertise that will complement our new CRNA division.”

AHS has offices in 17 states.
