UAE - 200,000 new jobs over the next five years

ManpowerGroup predict that hosting the World Expo 2020 is expected to create over 200,000 mostly temporary positions and contract jobs over the next five years, along with at least +1.5% increase to Dubai's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

Simon Matthews, Managing Director, ManpowerGroup Thailand, Vietnam and Middle East believes that: "Contract staffing in the UAE will become a trend over the next six years proving to be a far more viable option than the alternative….As industries such as construction, infrastructure, real estate, hospitality, travel and tourism gear up for the coming years they will look at investing in outsourcing solutions that are cost effective and efficient."

According to Matthews, research indicates that a large proportion of positions opening over the next six years in the UAE will be white-collar professional roles. "We see more positions opening for professionals in thriving industries leading up to Expo 2020. There will be an influx of specialised projects requiring specialised skills and expertise leading to a demand in industry professionals and also forcing companies to seek temporary staff for this period."

The forecasted trend has led ManpowerGroup to offer outsourcing solutions across the UAE including mainland and free-zones. "Now that we have the approval by several relevant authorities it enables us to offer outsourcing solutions for several UAE companies who previously had difficulties due to being based in both free-zones and on the mainland," said Safiyah Alli, Regional Operations Director, ManpowerGroup Middle East. "Given that the trend over the next six years is temporary contracts and outsourced solutions, we are now able to offer this as an option to companies looking to expand its workforce. We take full responsibility from sourcing the talent, based on our clients' requirements all the way to visa management, onboarding and appraisals. We shoulder the legalities including candidate sponsorship and administration all the way through to the end of the contract to make the process as efficient as possible."
