Toyota has announced a joint venture between the Pasona Group (listed 3rd in our list of the largest staffing firms in Japan) to be based in Bangkok.
Under the joint venture, Pasona will supply local dispatch staff to fill clerical and technical jobs for local car parts manufacturers. The Joint Venture is valued at Yen 60 million (under a million US dollars) in capital, of which Toyota will pay a minimum 26%. The company will employ 10 people to start with.
The Thai economy is still recovering from the 2011 floods but the country suffers from a shortage of skilled labour. Wages will be rising by between 10% to 35% in 70 of the country's 76 provinces following increases in the Minimum Wage.
