Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is seeking the arrest and prosecution of those who have set up a fake website claiming to be recruiting workers for the INEC, reports itwebafrica.com.
Kayode Idowu, the electoral body’s chief press secretary, said: “[The] INEC has already invited the security agencies to uncover and apprehend the sponsors of the recruitment portal.”
Mr Idowu warned the public about the fake recruitment scheme that appears to be a recruitment portal conducting massive nationwide recruitment for the Commission in 2013.
He added: “This is to alert the public that the portal is phony, and was not put up by INEC. The commission is not conducting any massive recruitment at the moment, and the sponsors of the said portal are apparently out to hoodwink and defraud the public.”
