Middle East job board, Bayt.com’s recent Middle East Workplace Dynamics; poll revealed that a fifth of professionals in the Middle East and North Africa do not believe that their education adequately prepared them for success in the workplace.
Bayt.com VP of Sales, Suhail Masri, said, “21.2% of respondent reported that lack of educational preparation is the biggest roadblock for career growth.” “Professionals should start seriously looking at other methods of gaining knowledge to stay relevant, whether through further education, online resources, or training and workshops. Our poll shows that professionals are searching for opportunities where they can learn and grow.”
Respondents admitted that bad pay, no clear advancement, and wanting a better job were all motivators for seeking new employment. They are most attracted to companies they feel will help them develop their skills and provide learning and training opportunities.
Despite 96.6% of respondents confirming that they are open to new career opportunities, 45.8% admitted that they would prefer to be sought out by prospective employers on the basis of their online profile, rather than actively seek a new job.
