Japan-based staffing business S-Pool (2471: HS) reported that its revenue for the six months to the end of May 2013 rose +1.9% to JPY 2.6 billion (USD 25.9 million) from JPY 2.55 billion (USD 25.45 million) compared with their six-month results in the preceding period ending November 2012.
Operating profit grew by 149% in the six months since November, rising from JPY 23 million (USD 229,568) to JPY 59 million (USD 588,893) at the end of May 2013. Net profit during the same period rose from JPY 5 million (USD 49.9 million) to JPY 44 million (USD 439,174).
Looking ahead the company has not found any reason to amend its financial forecast made in February 2013. S-Pool expects revenue for the year to the end of November 2013 to amount to JPY 5.26 billion (USD 52.5 million) with a projected net profit of JPY 50 million (USD 499,062).
S-Pool offers contracting, outsourcing, and human resource solutions, which includes the provision of temporary staffing services. The firm was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Tokyo.
In today’s trading, the company’s share price rose +9.04% to JPY 410. Its current market value is JPY 1.05 billion (USD 10.48 million).
