Tokyo-headquartered Recruit Holdings, the seventh-largest staffing firm in the world, today announced a board shake-up to reposition current officers and “accelerate overseas business.”
Current corporate executive officer Shigeru Kusahara will be appointed to be a new board director. But the official appointment will not take place until a shareholder’s meeting in late June.
Last year, the staffing firm acquired US recruiter Advantage Resourcing America (ARA) in the United States and Advantage Resourcing Europe, giving it a stronger foothold in the region. In September 2012, Recruit also bought the US-based job site Indeed for an undisclosed sum.
Recruit Holdings is the largest staffing firm in Japan with a market share of 6%, according to research by Staffing Industry Analysts. The company is not a pure staffing business and operates over 40 different websites in a range of categories such as life events, lifestyle, electronic commerce, social applications and HR.
