Japan – CareerLink net sales jump

Tokyo-headquartered staffing firm Careerlink Co Ltd (6070:TYO) today reported that net sales for the 2012 financial year, ended in February, jumped +16.4% to JPY 17.90 billion (USD 179.65 million), compared to JPY 15.37 billion (USD 154.26 million) in the prior year.

Operating income was JPY 1.03 billion (USD 10.33 million), an increase of +71.9% year-on-year. The firm posted a net income of JPY 563 million (USD 5.38 million), compared to JPY 283 million (USD 2.84 million) a year ago.

Looking ahead, the company expects next year’s net sales to be below current levels at a projected JPY 16.01 billion (USD 160.68 million). Net income is forecast to reach JPY 432 million (USD 4.33 million).

Careerlink provides staffing and human resource services. The company offers business process outsourcing (BPO), providing incentive contracts to improve operational efficiency, as well as the planning, design and implementation of business processes of government, local public entities and businesses. 

The company’s share price closed at JPY 747.00 today, seeing a daily increase of +5%. Based on its stock price, the firm has a market value of JPY 3.98 billion (USD 39.94 million).
