India - IBM preferred choice among IT grads

29 July 2013

Firstnaukri.com, a job portal for campus hiring, has released its annual Employer Preference Survey for 2013. The  survey was administered to students across various campuses throughout India. The results found that Infosys, TCS & IBM still remain the most preferred brands for in placements for IT students.

Commenting on the findings of the survey Deepali Singh, Business Head, Firstnaukri.com said: "Infosys, TCS & IBM still remain the big giants in campus placements for IT students."

"It is interesting to note that the students are keener for a good job profile rather than a fat salary package. This reflects the growing inclination of youngsters towards a meaningful job with salary no more as a constraint. This can be good news for recruiters amid a slowdown," added Singh.

For non-IT engineers for courses like civil, mechanical, production, electrical etc., survey revealed that DRDO and L&T are the most preferred brands followed by Tata Motors & Tata Steel.

"If this trend continues, public sector undertakings might be soon losing out on campus talent," suggested the report.
