India - Adecco is largest staffing firm in a USD 5 Billion market

Staffing Industry Analysts, the leading global advisor on contingent work, published today its 2014 list of the ten largest staffing firms in India. Adecco topped the list with USD 275 million in revenue and a 5.5% market share, while Indian headquartered TeamLease ranked second with USD 245 million in revenue.

Staffing Industry Analysts estimates the Indian staffing market to be worth approximately USD 5 billion; broken down between permanent recruitment (12%), temporary staffing (75%), and various HR solutions (13%).  The top three firms account for approximately 15% of the total market and the top ten firms 26%.

The five largest staffing companies in India, based on 2012 revenue, are:

“The Indian Staffing Federation has predicted that the 1.3 million temporary workers presently in the organised sector will swell to 9 million workers in the next 10 years,” said Adam Pode, Director of International Research at Staffing Industry Analysts. “The major international staffing firms that are represented in our list have come to India because they recognise the huge potential of the market.”
