Hong Kong – Job opportunities to rise +4.8%

17 January 2013

Job opportunities in Hong Kong are expected to rise by +4.8% in 2013 from a year ago and primarily in sales, customer service and business development positions. The latest hiring index by JobsDB found that engineering and hospitality staff will also remain high in demand this year.

“The predicted growth of jobs indicates that hiring confidence is improving. We see that the demand for frontline workers in sales and customer service positions remained strong throughout 2012,” said Justin Yiu, general manager of JobsDB Hong Kong.

“Though uncertainties still prevail in the global economy, I think this trend is likely to sustain this year because strong economic fundamentals in Asia will continue to support domestic consumption and the labour market. In the short term, many companies are looking to fill frontline sales positions to generate revenue and maintain a high service level.”

The survey also found that employers often find candidate evaluation a difficult task because it is a critical step in identifying the right talent.

JobsDB.com is a well-known recruitment media in Hong Kong. With one million jobseekers as members, the company offers 50,000 jobs per month.
