The latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reveals that the number of job vacancies across Australia in November 2013 was -14.9% lower when compared with the same month last year.
There were approximately 140,000 vacancies in both the public and private sector during November 2013; a decrease of -0.3% compared with August 2013.
The total number of job vacancies in the private sector fell by -15.1% to 129,500 in November 2013 compared with last year. When compared with August 2013, the number of private job vacancies fell marginally by -0.1%.
The public sector accounted for 10,500 job vacancies, equating to 7.5% of the total number of job vacancies in November 2013. Compared with November 2012 the number of vacancies fell by -12.8% and compared with August 2013 the number fell by -3.6%.
