Australia – Ambition co-founder leaves business

20 November 2013

The Ambition Group Board announced today that Paul Lyons, Managing Director for Australia, will be leaving the business. Mr Lyons co-founded Ambition in 1999 with Nick Waterworth and since this time he has played a hugely influential role, not only with specific business units, but also in managing and inspiring key individuals.

Since its inception, the organisation has grown from a start-up to a recognised international company with revenues approaching AUD 90 million (USD) in 2012 and 10 offices spread throughout Australia, Asia, and the UK.

Ambition Group Chairman Eric Dodd said: “Paul has been core to Ambition’s identity since it was established over 14 years ago and the company he has co-founded has built a strong reputation in the recruitment industry. His dedication, passion and connection with the business have been exemplary and I want to thank him for that commitment and wish him well in his future endeavours”.

“Over recent years, Ambition Group has been preparing for succession and Guy Day, who was appointed Chief Executive in early 2012 and joined the board in May 2011, will continue to lead the company. Furthermore, the structure of the Ambition Group Board has changed of late, and the appointment of a new Sydney-based Chief Financial Officer will ensure the business is in good hands subsequent to Paul Lyons’ departure,” Mr Dodd added.

Paul was recently appointed to the RCSA Board and will continue to play an important and active role in the industry.
