The annual increase in pay for China's 163 million migrant workers almost halved in 2012, Reuters reports. A survey by the National Bureau of Statistics signalled a weaker job market as economic growth in China is slowing further.
The average monthly wage of migrant workers rose by nearly +12% in 2012 from the previous year to CNY 2,290 (USD 370). But this represents a sharp drop from the annual 21% surge seen in 2011. Read the whole article here.
