The majority of graduates from Japanese universities received job offers in February with numbers rising to 81.7%, an increase of +1.2% from a year ago. The Japan Times reports that government data points to improved labour market conditions for graduates as the amount of university leavers finding employment rose for the second year in a row.
However, figures remained below the highs seen before the recession. “It appears companies that had limited recruitment following the (2008) Lehman shock, have begun to recruit more,” a labour ministry official is quoted as saying.
