Around the Web – Malaysia minimum wage increase to benefit foreign workers

Malaysia recently changed its minimum wage policy to raise pay levels, something which should also benefit workers from other South Asian countries, according to an article on mysinchew.com. Malaysia has become a popular destination for foreign workers, particularly from Nepal which is set to profit from the recent increase in pay.

The monthly minimum wage has increased to RM900 ($295), up from RM546 ($180), for workers on the Malaysian Peninsula. For workers in Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo, the minimum wage has risen to RM800 ($260).
