Barry Asin Named President of Staffing Industry Analysts

LOS ALTOS, CA. January 14, 2010 ‐‐ Staffing Industry Analysts today announced that Barry Asin, the firm’s chief analyst and managing executive, has been promoted to President.

A recognized industry leader, Asin has nearly 20 years of experience working with Fortune 1000 companies and staffing firms on contingent labor strategies and programs. Asin has worked for Staffing Industry Analysts for the past seven years as a key member of the executive management team.

Asin succeeds managing director Ron Mester. Mester managed the firm for the past eight years through a period of significant growth, including its successful acquisition by Crain Communications in 2008.

In addition to Asin’s appointment, the company announced that Dana Shaw has been promoted to senior vice president, strategy and solutions. Hinda Chalew has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and interactive services. Jon Osborne has also been promoted to the position of vice president of research and joins the executive team. Rounding out the executive group is John Nurthen, who joined the company last year and will continue in his role as general manager, Europe.

A frequent lecturer and industry speaker, Asin joined Staffing Industry Analysts in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a senior executive at global staffing leader Adecco SA. Before joining Adecco, he held operations management positions with Pepsico. Earlier in his career, he worked for Andersen Consulting, the predecessor of Accenture. Asin earned an MBA from Harvard University and Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Princeton University.
