Staffing Industry Analysts and Littler Mendelson Form an Alliance to Monitor Contingent Workforce Related Legal Decisions

LOS ALTOS, Calif., – September 30, 2009 –Staffing Industry Analysts, the nation’s premier provider of market intelligence and advisory services about the contingent workforce, today announced an alliance with Littler Mendelson, the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management.

“Staffing Industry Analysts is very excited to work with Littler Mendelson on monitoring the legal, legislative, and regulatory environment affecting companies who use or supply contingent labor,” said Ron Mester, Managing Director of Staffing Industry Analysts. “Staying abreast of these issues is one of the critical challenges for corporations who use temporary workers/independent contractors and for staffing firms. The monthly advisory report that will be produced will help these companies to not only stay on top of these issues, but to understand key implications and actions to take.”

The alliance between Staffing Industry Analysts and Littler Mendelson will consist of legal, legislative, and regulatory monitoring at the U.S. Federal level as well as for all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The two organizations will co-produce a monthly advisory report which will be made available at no additional fee to U.S. members of Staffing Industry Analysts’ research services, including its Contingent Workforce Strategies Council Members.    The first report will be released to members in late September. Littler Mendelson attorneys will also be featured speakers at future Staffing Industry Analysts’ conferences and webinars, including The Contingent Workforce Strategies Summit.

“We predict that contingent workers will emerge as an ever-increasing and significant component of the overall workforce in the next few years,” said Marko Mrkonich, Littler’s President and Managing Director.    “Littler’s Contingent Workforce Practice Group which is focused on identifying and analyzing the myriad of the employment law implications of this trend, will be working closely with the team at Staffing Industry Analysts. Going forward, we believe that this alliance will enable us to provide clients with the critical information necessary to manage their contingent workforce more effectively while remaining compliant with the complex regulations and laws.”
