Staffing Industry Analysts Names Largest Canadian Staffing and Talent Engagement Firms

Adecco and Randstad Top List for Second Year in a Row

Mountain View, Calif. – September 15, 2014 - Staffing Industry Analysts, the leading global advisor on contingent work, released the 2014 list of largest Canadian staffing and talent engagement firms. Adecco and Randstad topped the list for the second year in a row and the same companies have been featured in the top five since 2010.

The 2014 list includes 21 firms that generated at least 50 million CAD in Canadian staffing and talent engagement revenue in 2013. Added together, these firms generated 4.5 billion CAD in such revenue in 2013, accounting for 45% of the market.

“Despite continued sluggishness in the Canadian macroeconomic environment in 2013, the largest Canadian staffing firms appear to have generated a solid year of business last year,” said Timothy Landhuis, senior research analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts. “Bright spots of staffing demand were reported in niches such as the IT staffing skill segment, the oil and gas industry, and even increasing demand in the growing healthcare staffing sector.”

Staffing Industry Analysts defines staffing revenue as revenue generated from the provision of temporary workers to business clients, as well as from the “place & search” services of direct hire/permanent placement and retained search. Also included is “temp-to-hire” conversions. Talent engagement revenue is defined as Professional Employer Organization (PEO) net revenue, Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) revenue, payrolling net revenue, online staffing revenue and Managed Service Provider (MSP) fee revenue. Revenue from outplacement services is no longer included.
