CWS Summit Explores the Transformative Impact of Contingent Work on HR and Procurement

Annual Staffing Industry Analysts summit celebrates 10th year anniversary

Mountain View, Calif. – September 22, 2014 - The evolution and growth of contingent workforce management strategies and its impact on human resource and procurement departments will set the stage for this year’s Contingent Workforce Strategies (CWS) Summit, an annual conference from Staffing Industry Analysts. The summit, on October 8-9 2014 at The Mirage in Las Vegas, NV, will provide a unique perspective on how organizations are reinventing entire departments and career paths dedicated to HR and the effect on managing a growing contingent workforce program.

The summit, now in its 10th year, will attract over more than 500 corporate buyers of contingent labor and is targeted to anyone in human resources, procurement, IT or category management. With the theme “Mission, Strategy, Tactics, Methods,” CWS Summit provides best practices and real world solutions for companies wanting to develop, maintain and optimize a contingent workforce strategy.

Marcus Buckingham, author, consultant and speaker, is scheduled to speak on Thursday, October 9 at 9:00 a.m. Buckingham’s keynote, “Find your Edge: Building a Winning Workforce,” focuses on a customized best practice delivery system that puts innovative ideas into practice without stifling the personal strengths that give people their competitive edge. The summit will also feature a keynote panel formatted in a TED talk style where panelists will offer new ideas and viewpoints on contingent workforce issues.

“At CWS Summit we’ll examine all the elements driving change in contingent workforce management,” said Bryan Peña, Staffing Industry Analysts’ vice president of contingent workforce strategies and research. “This is an exciting time in the industry and as the only North American conference geared toward corporate buyers of contingent labor, we are poised to provide all the methodologies and innovations needed to successfully manage this transformation.”

CWS Summit will feature almost 50 sponsors and exhibitors and will honor five companies that have sponsored every CWS Summit since its inception in 2004: Allegis Global Solutions, Bartech, KellyOCG, ManpowerGroup Solutions TAPFIN and Staff Management | SMX.

Prior to the CWS Summit, Staffing Industry Analysts will hold a Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP) class, a ground-breaking certification program in contingent workforce program management. In parallel to the CCWP class, the Contingent Workforce (CW) Solutions Forum will be held at The Mirage on October 6-7. CW Solutions Forum focuses on cutting-edge solutions for corporate managers of contingent labor programs. The sessions at CW Solutions Forum will be a deep dive into specific methods and tactics of contingent labor management topics including RPO, recruiting, technology and CW risk management.
