2014 Contingent Buyers Survey: Which factors encourage/discourage use of contingent labour?

  • Contingent buyers were asked “All else being equal, do the following factors tend to encourage or discourage use of contingent workers in your organisation?”
  • Top factors motivating use of contingent work among buyers include: variable workload levels, rapid growth, and lower risk with “try before you buy”
  • Buyers did not report any of the factors to be materially discouraging, though ‘learning curve and intellectual capital of contingent workers vs. regular workers’ scored, on net, mildly negative.
