Recently announced transactions involving information technology services and staffing firms include Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) striking a deal to sell its applied technology division and Fahrenheit IT Staffing and Consulting, a division of Global Employment Solutions, acquiring IT staffing firm Indecon Solutions:
CSC is selling its applied technology division to PAE for $175 million in cash. CSC acquired the operations in its 2003 purchase of DynCorp. The division provides aviation maintenance, base operations and maintenance, test and training range, and space range support at U.S. government installations. The division's 5,400 employees will transfer to PAE.
"The sale of [the applied technology division] supports our realignment of company assets with our strategy of leading in the next generation of technology solutions and services, including cybersecurity, big data and cloud computing," said CSC President and CEO Mike Lawrie.
The division had revenue of $760 million in fiscal year 2013. It marks the sixth divestiture for CSC in seven months.
Fahrenheit IT Staffing and Consulting, a division of Global Employment Solutions, acquiring IT staffing firm Indecon Solutions, a Chicago-based IT staffing firm. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
Kevin Knaul, a prior owner and senior leader of Indecon Solutions, will remain with the company and serve as a division president of Fahrenheit IT, which is headquartered in Littleton, Colo.

Indecon Solutions counts a network of more than 50,000 IT consultants covering all aspects of IT staffing including project management, business analysis, application development, help desk and tech support, Web, network architecture and quality assurance. It operates branches in Chicago; Cincinnati; Indianapolis; Columbus, Ohio; and Richmond, Va.
Global Employment Solutions acquired Fahrenheit Technology IT last year and rebranded it to serve as Global Employment’s IT-specific brand with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Washington D.C., New York, Philadelphia and Richmond, Va.
