Nashville company acquires IT staffing firm

Nashville, Tenn.-based information technology staffing firm Zycron Inc., a provider of information technology services and solutions, acquired Computer Professionals Inc., an IT staffing and recruiting agency also based in Nashville.

The transaction closed June 14; terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition bolsters Zycron’s footprint in the healthcare sector as many of CPI’s staff of 36 work on-site at Nashville-based healthcare companies.

Zycron reported revenue of $40.5 million in 2012 and counts a staff of 350. It has operations in five U.S. cities, including Denver; Dallas; and Nashville, Memphis and Chattanooga, Tenn. Zycron also has a joint venture in Latin America. In May, it established Zycron Europe in London. Its business comprises about 35 to 40 percent outsourcing; the rest is staffing.

“These are multi-month, multi-year assignments with tier-one clients,” said Zycron President and CEO Steven Howard Smith.

The company has contracts with Federal Express, the state of Tennessee, the state of Arkansas, the city of Memphis, public power provider Tennessee Valley Authority, and Hospital Corp. of America, among others.
