ManpowerGroup buys Greythorn’s tech, finance staffing ops in Australia, Singapore

ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN) acquired the Australian and Singaporean arm of Greythorn, a professional services and recruitment firm targeting the technology and finance sectors.

Greythorn and its banking and finance subsidiary, Marks Sattin, will become wholly owned by ManpowerGroup Australia and operate under the Experis brand.

“Demand for IT talent is high and fast-changing — ranked No. 9 in the top 10 hardest jobs to fill in Australia, and accounting and finance is ranked No. 7. That demand includes specialists in key areas such as security, big data, analytics, mobility and cloud,” said Lincoln Crawley, managing director, ManpowerGroup Australia and New Zealand. “The acquisition of Greythorn and Marks Sattin will provide access to a large, international network of resources and greater reach in both local and global markets, while continuing to focus on deep vertical expertise; building on our leading services for clients and candidates.”

Greythorn Managing Director Richard Fischer will join the ManpowerGroup ANZ senior leadership team.

“Our acquisition by ManpowerGroup is a key development in unlocking the growth potential of the business and our ability to scale up in the region as the market leader in specialist Technology and Finance recruitment,” Fisher said. “Greythorn and Marks Sattin are complementary to Experis and we look forward to realizing the synergies that are present across these businesses. This is a natural next step for us and will deliver exceptional opportunities for our clients and candidates.”

Greythorn formed in 1979 in the UK and launched its Australian operations in 1995. The technology specialist recruiter provides contract, permanent and professional services from offices in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Singapore. Marks Sattin, its subsidiary, opened in 2007 and operates offices in Sydney and Singapore, and targets specialized niche roles in accounting and finance.
