Computer and info sciences master’s grads receive highest starting salaries

Technical disciplines posted the highest starting salaries among master’s degree graduates of the class of 2015, according to salary survey data released by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Computer and information sciences majors reported the highest starting salary at $89,583.

NACE previously reported computer and information sciences majors also earned the highest starting salaries for bachelor’s degrees.

The average salaries by discipline for Class of 2015 grads with master’s degrees include:

  • Computer and information sciences: $89,583
  • Engineering: $81,667
  • Engineering technologies: $84,250
  • Health professions: $79,125
  • Business, management and marketing: $65,000
  • Biological and biomedical sciences: $65,000
  • Mathematics and statistics: $66,333
  • Physical sciences: $58,500
  • Communication and journalism: $56,400
  • Psychology: $62,500

The fall 2015 Salary Survey included 60 colleges and universities. The data represent actual starting salary data for Class of 2015 graduates who graduated from July 1 through June 30, 2015.
