Information technology remained a bright spot for employment as the number of U.S. tech jobs rose by 0.43 percent in July to 4.49 million, according to the TechServe Alliance’s IT employment index. The U.S. has added 251,500 IT jobs since July 2012.

“I am pleased to see IT employment remains a bright spot in an overall labor market that is still recovering slowly,” said Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance. “With July's strong showing, IT employment has now grown for 23 consecutive months.”
