Experis to acquire majority stake in Canadian IT staffing firm

ManpowerGroup’s (NYSE: MAN) Experis division will acquire majority ownership of Canadian IT consulting firm Veritaaq, whose Veritaaq Technology House brand has ranked on Staffing Industry Analyst’s list of largest staffing firms in Canada.

The transaction is expected to close in late September; terms were not announced.

The Veritaaq brand will remain. Executives will remain with the company and retain their current titles.

“This strategic partnership helps further accelerate our strategy of shifting our business mix towards higher value and professional solutions,” said ManpowerGroup CEO Jonas Prising. “Employers need the best IT professionals to keep pace with technological advances, and this acquisition allows us to bring even more IT talent to organizations so they can achieve their business objectives.”

Headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Veritaaq counts more than 750 consultants and has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary. It serves clients in the telecommunications, financial, and oil and gas sectors and also serves all levels of government.

ManpowerGroup launched Experis in 2011, combining the company’s three North America professional talent and solutions organizations — Manpower Professional, Comsys and Jefferson Wells — into the brand. Experis operate in the engineering, information technology and finance verticals.

“Veritaaq has been looking for a partner to help us continue our growth strategy and build on our success,” said Veritaaq President Paul Genier. “I am delighted that we have found that partner in Experis, and this strategic initiative will provide tremendous benefits in dramatically increasing Veritaaq's breadth and scale of service offerings.”

In 2012, Veritaaq appeared on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of best staffing firms to work for.
