European Commission approves 7S Group’s acquisition by ManpowerGroup

The European Commission, in accordance with the EU Merger Regulation, it has approved the acquisition of German staffing firm 7S Group by ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN).

The commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns because the companies’ activities in Europe only overlap to a very limited extend and sizeable competitors will continue to ensure a good level of competition in all relevant markets.

7S Group offers temporary and permanent employment services, contract work services, and HR consultancy services in Europe. ManpowerGroup is a global provider of employment services and workforce solutions.

The acquisition was announced in June and, according to research from Staffing Industry Analysts, is expected to make ManpowerGroup the third largest staffing firm in Germany; behind Randstad and Adecco.

Financial details of the acquisition, which is expected to close in September 2015, were not disclosed.
