GoldStar Global sells travel nurse staffing firm

GoldStar Global sold atlas MedStaff, an Omaha, Neb.-based travel nurse staffing firm, to Hank Anderson and Steve Ryan. The transaction closed May 1 and terms were not disclosed.

Richard Andersen, owner of GoldStar Global, launched atlas MedStaff as a division in 2011. Atlas MedStaff provides travel nurses and other healthcare professionals such as OR techs and cath lab techs. GoldStar provides staffing in information technology, engineering, finance, sales and marketing.

Anderson and Ryan each now own 50 percent of the company.

Ryan has been managing partner at atlas MedStaff for the past seven months. A retired Air Force veteran, he began his career in healthcare staffing working for two of the larger companies in Omaha.

Anderson is new to the firm. A certified public accountant, he spent 15 years in the investment department of Principal Financial Group, working his way up to officer of the company. Subsequent to that, he was the CFO of a healthcare properties REIT, a local real estate developer, and an investment fund manager.

Atlas MedStaff has tripled in size over the last year, with a projected revenue of $7 million this year, according to Marketing Director Matthew Krell. It contracts with 900 hospitals nationwide.
