Cumberland acquires Cipe Consulting

Cumberland Consulting Group, a provider of healthcare IT staffing and others services, acquired Cipe Consulting Group LLC of Seattle

The transaction closed June 13; terms were not disclosed.

“Cipe is well-known for the depth of its implementation experience and for the high-quality staffing support it delivers to healthcare providers across the country,” said Cumberland CEO and Managing Partner Jim Lewis. “We are very excited to be joining forces to better serve our clients.”

Cumberland serves providers, payors and life sciences companies. It is a portfolio company of private equity firm Tailwind Capital.

Seattle-based Cipe Consulting is a healthcare technology consulting firm specializing in electronic health records and revenue cycle systems. The acquisition expands Cumberland’s service offerings to include staffing resources with specialized clinical workflow knowledge.

Cipe’s 50 professionals will join Cumberland and the Cipe Consulting brand will transition to operate as Cumberland. Cipe’s co-founders, Rachel Wixson and Derek Garrison, will join Cumberland as partners. The Seattle office will be maintained, expanding Cumberland’s footprint across the U.S. with the addition of a West Coast office.
