Cross Country Healthcare Inc. (NASD: CCRN) announced B. Franklin Phillips was appointed to the position of president of MDA Holdings Inc., according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. MDA is a locum tenens and allied healthcare staffing provider acquired by Cross Country in 2008. Phillips previously served as vice president, sales, operations and quality assurance of Interim Physicians LLC from 2009 through this year. Phillips also served as division president of Maxim Physician Resources LLC from 2007 through 2009.

In addition, Phillips founded Weatherby Locums Inc., a firm later acquired by CHG Healthcare.

Phillips takes over from James Ginter, whose employment as president of MDA Holdings was terminated, according to the filing.
