The Obama Administration announced its intention to postpone the Affordable Care Act’s employer pay-or-play mandate and its related reporting features by one year, to Jan. 1, 2015 from Jan. 1, 2014. The IRS issued a formal notice of the action on July 9, which did not materially add to the main points of the informal announcement made by the administration on July 2, writes George Reardon, special counsel at employment law firm Little Mendelson. The rest of the law was unchanged by this action.
