CHG’s longtime CEO steps down, healthcare staffing firm names new top exec

CHG Healthcare Services, the second-largest US healthcare staffing firm, named Scott Beck as CEO. He takes over from Michael Weinholtz, who has served as the company’s CEO since 1998 and chairman since 2012.

Weinholtz appeared on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of most influential people in staffing. He will take the role of executive chairman and remain an officer of the company.

Beck has served as CHG’s chief operating officer since 2008 and president since 2012, where he has been responsible for all of CHG’s business operations. He joined the company in 1999 and has held leadership roles including chief marketing officer, president of the CompHealth locum tenens division, and group president.

“Scott has been a key architect and driver of CHG’s unmatched growth over the last decade,” said Weinholtz, who first announced the planned CEO transition in April 2014, following a multi-year succession program. “I am excited for him to take on the role of CEO, and I’m confident he will do an excellent job of leading us into the future.”

CHG’s brands include CompHealth, Weatherby Healthcare, RNnetwork and Foundation Medical Staffing. In addition to being the second-largest US healthcare staffing firm, it ranks as the largest US provider of locum tenens staffing. It also regularly appears on the list of Best Staffing Firms to Work For.
