Private equity makes investment in HCCA

Funds managed by New York-based healthcare private equity firm MTS Health Investors LLC completed a strategic equity investment in HCCA Health Connections Inc. and HCCA International, a healthcare staffing firm based in Franklin, Tenn.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

MTS partnered with HCCA’s existing senior management team to provide liquidity to selling shareholders and additional capital to support future growth.

HCCA’s offerings include offshore clinical resources to US healthcare companies and clinical process outsourcing. Its domestic nurse staffing business provides qualified nurses for deployment at US-based hospitals.

“The strategic partnership with MTS will provide us with an experienced partner who can help us execute on our growth strategy and enhance the value we deliver to our clients,” said HCCA CEO David Bartholomew, who will serve as a member of HCCA’s board of directors. “MTS’s strong network of relationships and industry expertise will augment our capabilities and support us in expanding the breadth of our service offering.”

“We are excited to be partnering with the HCCA management team and to assist with their continued growth,” said MTS Senior Managing Director Oliver Moses. “The company is widely regarded as an industry leader and well positioned to capitalize on the expanding payor outsourcing market and the significant nurse supply shortage that exists throughout the US.”
