What percent of your workforce is contingent?

In our Contingent Buyers Survey for North America, we ask respondents to estimate the percent of their organization's workforce that is contingent. We define contingent workers as all non-permanent workers, including temporary, contract staff, independent contractors and consultants, but excluding part-time regular employees. After rising substantially for a few years, the average percent across respondents has held steady at 18% since 2013. Note that this survey only represents companies with 1,000 or more employees.
