Bartech Holding Corp., a Michigan-based staffing and MSP provider, has been acquired by UK-based Impellam Group plc for an initial payment of $120 million.

Bartech’s MSP currently manages more than $3 billion in spend for clients worldwide and ranks eighth among MSPs taking part in Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2015 VMS and MSP Competitive Landscape study based on 2014 spend. Bartech’s MSP business operates under the Bartech Workforce Management Solutions and Bartech Managed Solutions brands.

Excluding MSP and other nonstaffing revenue, Bartech ranked No. 90 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest US staffing firms with $145 million in revenue, which includes only temporary staffing, direct hire, retained search and temp-to-hire conversion fees.

Impellam ranks among the world’s largest staffing firms. It also offers MSP and vendor management systems, which it operates under the Guidant Group and Comensura brands. Impellam provides temporary staffing under the Corestaff brand in the US.

“This acquisition demonstrates the dynamic nature of the MSP space. In the end, Impellum’s focus on talent management strategies — which they have leveraged to great success abroad — and Bartech’s history of supplier optimization in vendor neutral MSP’ create an interesting synergy that elevates the MSP market as a whole,” said Bryan Peña, Staffing Industry Analysts’ VP of contingent workforce strategies and research.
