Halifax-based driver and industrial recruitment firm, Transline-Resource defied the recession in 2009 with what can only be described as a Bumper Year!
Turnover was up 50% from 16.9 million Pounds to 25.4 million Pounds, profits were up over 300% to 1 million Pounds, 23 new contracts were secured with some of the country's biggest household name retailers and distributors, and the company's Training Team was officially opened at its North West HQ in Trafford Park, Manchester.
Transline-Resource's traditionally solid business base in the Midlands and the North expanded greatly and it continued to branch out North and South, with major new contracts in Scotland and London.
Transline-Resource, Joint-Managing Director, Paul Beasley said "the strategy behind this success is simple and robust: to develop relationships with all our key clients and provide them with an unrivalled service of labour provision and monitoring."
"The implementation of this approach has yielded wide ranging benefits including shared knowledge, expertise and experience, and a greater access to high quality opportunities, with key partners introducing the company to a record number of new contracts during 2009."
Everything Transline-Resource has achieved was against the backdrop of the loss of its lucrative Woolworths contracts at the end of 2008, when the iconic high street brand went into liquidation.
"Following the collapse of Woolworths, the company has moved forwards with 23 new contracts, increased sales and record profitability. This success has been testament to the incredible work ethic from management right through to warehouse staff and HGV drivers, and thankfully we are now reaping the financial rewards," added Paul.
But since then, the company has gone on to expand its client base across 30 plus on-site offices throughout the UK placing around 4000 workers in transport driver positions and general warehousing jobs.
By the end of 2010 the firm expects to double its current size and achieve turnover of 50 million Pounds.
Transline-Resource, Joint-Managing Director, Jon Taylor, added "this will be achieved by continuing to exceed client expectations; listen and act upon customer feedback and pursue new company contracts. All of these steps will help the Group to diversify and increase capacity."
"With the arrival of our Manchester-based Training HQ, we will also continue to invest in people and training as we believe that a worker trained by us today will save our clients money tomorrow. By the end of 2010, we will have taught, assessed and passed over 500 candidates for NVQs and Certificates of Professional Competence (CPC) in warehousing, logistics and driver training."
Transline-Resource Director Mark Elms, adds "in the current economic climate, young people have been stuck between a rock and a hard place. Through no fault of their own, many are trapped, possessing the desire to work but lacking the experience to establish themselves in the world of work."
