Outsourcing specialist Staffline (STAF:LSE) has expanded its industry reach with the acquisition of a Birmingham-based recruiter, the company reported on Wednesday. The undisclosed deal will see Staffline acquire the trade and assets of GB Resourcing, a temporary recruitment provider specialising in staffing services such as construction, manufacturing, logistics and driving.
Founded in 1999, GB Resourcing offers recruitment services throughout the Midlands. Staffline said the acquisition fits well into its logistics and distribution business Onsite adding two new food Onsites and a branch in Birmingham.
The move is in line with Staffline's business strategy of targeting selective bolt-on acquisitions to expand customer base and revenue mix. The acquisition will be earnings neutral in the first full year of ownership and is funded from the company’s existing bank facility.
Optima Corporate Finance LLP, an M&A boutique specialising in the staffing sector, introduced the deal opportunity to Staffline.
The firm has made a number of acquisitions this year, most recently in October when it acquired the franchised staffing business, Select Appointments Limited, from Randstad.
Andy Hogarth, chief executive of Staffline, said: “The acquisition of GB Resourcing strengthens the foothold in the Midlands area as well as broadening our expertise to provide high quality staffing services across a variety of sectors.”
Staffline specialises in outsourcing personnel to the industrial sector and ranks among the 20 largest staffing providers in the UK.
