View All NewsUK - REC welcomes new council members
The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has announced its new Council members whose elections were confirmed at its Annual General Meeting yesterday.
The Council members comprise six new Corporate Directors and five Individual Directors, each of whom will serve under the Chairmanship of Neil Smith for the next three years.
This year there were 11 Council positions to be elected, 6 Corporate Directors and 5 Individual Directors.
The newly elected Corporate Directors are: Jeff Brooks, Theresa Swann, Neil Smith, Peter Searle, Di Bradbury and Jim Berrisford.
The newly elected individual Directors are: Richard Toy, Louise McCarthy-Teague, Greg Latham, Philip Higgins and Mike Cooper.
Their election has been made possible this year through a new online voting system giving REC and IRP members an opportunity to cast their votes instantly.
Kevin Green, the REC's Chief Executive, said "we are delighted to welcome our new Council members and look forward to working closely with them in our joint vision of making the REC and the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) world-class 'must join' organisations."
"The new online voting system is a great example of democracy in action as it has enabled more REC and IRP members than ever before to become involved in choosing their new Council, making it more representative and dynamic than ever before."
