The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC)’s Director of Policy and Professional Services Tom Hadley has been re-appointed to the board of Eurociett, the representative body for the recruitment industry in Europe.
The organisation brings together 30 national federations as well as six of the largest international staffing companies (Adecco, Gi Group, Kelly Services, Manpower, Randstad and USG People). It represents the common interests of the agency work industry in Europe and aims to promote the positive role private employment agencies play in the European economy.
Commenting on the appointment, Denis Penel, Eurociett Managing Director, said: “Eurociett is very excited to have the REC active at our Board level. 2014 will be a very special year on an EU level, as a new Parliament will be elected and new Commission officials appointed. It is therefore crucial to have the UK voice being heard at the EU level, and to ensure that European issues are reflected in economic and social debates at the national level.”
Tom Hadley said: “There has never been a more important time to drive the recruitment industry’s collective voice in Europe. As well as pre-empting any future regulatory “offerings” from Brussels, the aim is to help the industry across Europe to grow by addressing misconceptions and challenging latent barriers in many member states. I look forward to working closely with Eurociett colleagues to champion our industry’s role within a dynamic and open EU jobs market that provides opportunities to all.”
