Nimrod Group, a new specialist staffing agency, spearheaded and financially backed by Scottish entrepreneur Frank Strang has been set up in order to provide entire teams for crisis and disaster type assignments, Herald Scotland reports.
Strang said "we are not simply a recruitment agency. Our USP is matching teams to problems. Any recruitment agency will take ex-servicemen and find them a job, but they tend to be in ones and twos. There’s nobody with a holistic approach, putting guys in teams."
"If you have a service leaver that has a social problem, if he was to go into a normal company, he might not last too long. If he’s with 10 ex-military guys working to build a hospital in Zimbabwe or a health relief project in India and something goes wrong, he will be disciplined and he will take it on the chin and get on with it."
Strang said further "the long-term goal is to branch into areas such as people leaving the police force. In time, the firm could expand abroad. I think the opportunity is massive. From a business perspective, it’s probably the most exciting thing I have ever done."
