UK – Ex-Adecco CEO resigns from Kellan

30 November 2012

UK-based staffing company, Kellan, today announced that ex-Adecco CEO John Bowmer has resigned with immediate effect as a non-executive director of the company to pursue other business interests in the United States, where he lives.

The company did not disclose who, if anyone, will fill his post.

Mr Bowmer’s career spans over 30 years working as an executive at multinational corporations.  Born and brought up in Derby, the son of an accountant and the grandson of a miner, he served as chairman of Adecco where he led the company as CEO from 1996 to 2002. Previously, he served as CEO of French staffing company Adia which later merged with ECCO to form Adecco.

Mr Bowmer is an investor in, and adviser to, several private equity companies in the US and remains Chairman of Californian professional staffing firm, Workway.

In September, Kellan reported lower sales figures in the first half of the year as trading conditions hampered growth in the six months to June.
