Retailer John Lewis announced that it is looking to recruit 2,000 temporary sales assistants for the forthcoming Christmas period. Applications are open for roles at John Lewis shops across the country’ from Scotland to Exeter, as available.
Temporary workers will be recruited to fill a variety of roles; including the Christmas shop, furnishing accessories, homeware, fashion, and electrical. The retailers is also on the hunt for a number of temporary employees to work it its distribution centres, where over 80,000 orders are expected to be processed each day in the lead-up to Christmas.
Laura Whyte, Personnel Director at John Lewis, said: “Christmas is an extremely important and busy time of the year for the business and it is essential that we have a strong and committed workforce in place early.”
“We’re not only looking for people who can provide excellent levels of customer service in our shops and call centres, but also for individuals who understand the important roles that our distribution centres play in making sure that the Christmas shopping experience is as smooth as possible for customers,” she added.
