UK - APSCo launches free accountancy helpdesk for members

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is launching a new helpdesk which will provide free accountancy advice to APSCo members. The helpdesk will be delivered by Saffery Champness, the accountancy firm, which specialises in the recruitment sector.
 
The new technical helpdesk, which is available now, will allow APSCo members to receive free technical advice and support from experts, including up to 20 minutes of free Senior Manager or Partner level advice.
 
APSCo members can contact the helpdesk with any questions about audits, accounting, accountancy and corporate finance, including:

• Extracting profits from the business in a tax efficient manner.

• Details of share incentive schemes for employees.

• An overview of how travel and subsistence schemes work.

• Other salary benefit schemes, such as pensions or childcare vouchers.

• Taxation associated with company cars or car allowances.

• Clarification on the impact of matters arising from the Chancellor's Budget on your business.

• VAT issues arising when dealing with international businesses, or VAT exempt businesses, including banks, charities and healthcare operators.

• Explanation of possible sources of finance and methods of improving working capital.

• Considerations when carrying out financial due diligence on a possible acquisition target.

• Considerations when valuing a recruitment business.

• Tips on grooming your business for an exit.
 
The contact the helpdesk, email apsco@saffery.com. A 'call-back' service is in operation and enquiries will be responded to on the same working day. However, depending on time of day/volume of enquiries, a response may be delayed but will be given before the end of the following working day.
