The Association of Temporary Employment Agencies of The Netherlands (ABU) has published temporary employment figures for the period from mid May to mid June 2009.
The data, which is based on information received from 80% of the Temporary Employment Agencies in the country, shows an overall decline in the total number of working hours of 24% compared with the same month last year. In terms of turnover, Temporary Employment fell by 22% compared to the same period last year.
The steepest decrease was reported by the technical sector with minus 32% in hours and minus 29% in turnover. The administrative sector decreased by 16% in hours and 14% in turnover. The medical sector fared slightly better with a decrease of 15% in hours and only a decrease of 5% in turnover.
ABUâ€™s latest reporting period had two working days less compared to the same period last year, so a significant correction was applied.
