According to research published by the Office of the Secretary of State for the Economy (SECO), unemployment in Switzerland has gone up from 3.8% in August 2009 to 3.9% in September.
Compared to September 2008 unemployment is up by 58,429 job seekers, an increase of 61% on a year-on-year basis.
Unemployment among the young is up by 12,851 job seekers, an increase of 75% compared to the same month in 2008.
The number of jobs advertised by Regional Job Centres (URC) has gone up by 587 units to a total of 13,940.
